Aspects of Three Phase Induction Generator in Single-Phase Operation in terms of Power Quality

The creation and evaluation of a STATCOM to achieve current and voltage balancing in an induction generator with three phases in a single-phase operation feeding a single-phase diode rectifier load are presented in this study. Simulink is used to represent the overall system, and the overall system’s performance is investigated. Models of a single-phase three-phase induction generator are used to feed an experimental setup that includes a three-phase induction generator in this study. The wind turbine induction generator is connected to the grid via a 25-kilometer cable (WTIG). A 125 kV/25 kV transformer integrates a 120 kV, 60 Hz regional grid. Using a STATCOM-based voltage regulator, the final results show that terminal voltage can be kept constant for both nonlinear balanced and unbalanced loads with no harmonics.
