AOMDV Intelligent Decision (AOMDV-ID) to Minimize Routing Delay for Diverse VANETs

The major constraint of VANET is to design one of the robust routing algorithms to facilitate adaptation of randomly and frequent changing network topology. Several routing protocols have been projected for efficient data transmission among the participating nodes. The most common used routing protocol is AOMDV (Ad hoc On Demand Multipath Distance Vector) that uses reactive protocol algorithm for multipath routing in VANET. AOMDV achieve well, but it doesn't has intelligent decision capabilities to select immediate route by source without discovering new route or select alternate route by intermediate node during failure that diminish performance and enhance end to end delay. To conquer this dilemma, we propose an AOMDV intelligent decision protocol (AOMDV-ID). AOMDV-ID acts as hybrid protocol (Proactive and Reactive). As a proactive protocol it maintains reachability information upto two hop counts. As a reactive protocol source node check their routing table for direct connectivity to the destination and collect routing information from V2V and V2RSU to the destination, if route found AOMDV-ID start transmission. At the same time it will start route discovery, new discovered route is compared with the static route in terms of with timestamp. Shorter timestamp is selected for further transmission. When failure is deducted, every intermediate node start transmission with alternate route of its static information collected from V2V and V2RSU and acts as source node for route discovery without affecting the source to minimize routing delay.
