Vibration Simulation of Microwave Tubes Considering Contact Constraint

Today, the vibration analysis technology for individual parts or structural components has matured, and its analysis results and calculation accuracy can fully meet the needs of the actual project. However, the structures of microwave tubes are assembled from more than a hundred components. The general rigid connection without considering contact can result in poor solution accuracy. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the connection relationships between components. In this paper, unlike the rigid connection without considering contact, authors use the finite element penalty function method to introduce the bonded contact constraint into the finite element equation while increasing the accuracy of the final analysis results. Through the simulation of microwave tubes, the proposed method has been validated against ANSYS. It has been shown that the proposed method has the same accuracy as ANSYS.
