Prediction of 28 GHz Millimeter-wave Indoor Propagation Characteristics in a Residential House

This paper predicts 28 GHz millimeter-wave indoor propagation characteristics in a two-story wooden residential house using numerical simulations based on the finite difference time domain technique. Numerical results of electromagnetic field distribution are utilized to derive 28 GHz parameters of path loss models such as path loss, shadow factor and cross-polarization discrimination. Especially, it is shown that the shadow fading in non-line-of-sight environment can be well characterized by the Gaussian-mix distribution model.
