Low Profile Multiband Magnetoelectric Antenna for GNSS and Telemetry

This paper presents a linearly polarized cavity-backed magnetoelectric (ME) antenna. This antenna exhibits external dimensions of $90\times 90\times 29.5mm^{3}(0.34\times 0.34\times 0.11\lambda_{L}^{3})$ and covers frequency bands $(S_{11}\lt -10dB)$ from 1.15 to 1.61 GHz and from 2.2 to 2.4GHz making it suitable for all GNSS, telemetry L and S applications. This is obtained by the modification of the excitation probe combined with an hybrid substrate. This antenna also presents very steady gain versus frequency with mean value of 5.8dBi in the bands of interest.
