Improved Three-Vector-Based Model Predictive Current Control for Energy Storage Converter

Compared to the single-vector-based model predictive current control (MPCC), Multi-vector-based MPCC has better performance of grid connected current in the energy converter system. However, it has the disadvantage of the large amount of calculation as the multi-vector selected. To effectively decrease the calculation, this paper proposes an improved three-vector-based MPCC for energy storage converter. The proposed method selects a virtual vector and a zero vector to control the gird current. The virtual vector is synthetized by adjacent two vectors among the six basic vectors. Furthermore, the optimal duty cycle is introduced to calculate the optimize duty cycle of the virtual vectors. This method can reduce the amount of calculation of three-vectors MPCC. The simulation results confirm the precision of this method.
