IoT based Driver Optic Monitoring and Actuation System

Most of the road accidents occur due to drivers' drowsiness. With the increase in road accidents, a countermeasure is required to reduce the number of accidents and eventually curb the problem. Additionally, with the increase in traffic, this problem will eventually grow. The main aim of this paper is to monitor the fatigue of the driver and to issue a timely alarm. This paper uses the 68-facial landmark detection to sense the eyelid movements of the driver. Upon sensing the drowsiness of the driver an alarm is issued from the system and with no response from the driver a phone call is actuated to wake up the driver in situations of emergency.
