Applications of Nanomaterials-Based Photoelectrochemical Biosensors for Highly Sensitive Detection

The purpose of this paper is to summarize applications of nanomaterials-based photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensors in environmental fields and food safety. In environmental fields, the present paper discusses the PEC biosensors applications with regards to carcinoembryonic antigen detection, and microcystin-leucine-arginine (MC-LR) detection. In food safety, application of PEC biosensors in the detection of pesticides, heavy metals and antibiotics are discussed. On the other side, the basic concept and effectiveness of PEC biosensors are systematically described, and a glance to the future of the technology advancement of these same PEC biosensors.
