Influence of Emission Source Parameters on Shielding Effectiveness of Electromagnetic Shielding Clothing and New Evaluation Method

The influence law of emission source parameters on the testing results of the shielding effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding clothing is still unclear, which leads to the scientific evaluation method of the clothing cannot be established. In this paper, the semi-anechoic chamber is used to test the shielding effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding clothing in the range of 1–18GHz, and the variation law on the shielding effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding clothing at different emission source distance, angle and testing point is explored. A new multi-factor composite evaluation method for shielding performance of the electromagnetic shielding clothing is proposed. The results show that the distance of the emission source has a significant effect on the shielding effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding clothing. With the increase of the testing distance, the shielding effectiveness has a significant decline trend, and the degree of decline is different with different frequencies. The angle of the emission source also has a certain influence on shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding clothing, which is closely related to the frequency, the size of the opening and the number of the stitch in the measured clothing area. The position of the testing point also has an impact on the shielding effectiveness of the electromagnetic shielding clothing. In the area with many stitches and openings, the measured shielding effectiveness is low. Otherwise, it is high. The proposed multi-factor composite evaluation method can comprehensively evaluate the electromagnetic protection performance of the clothing. This paper provides a reference for the design, testing and evaluation of the electromagnetic shielding clothing.
