A Wideband High-gain Dipole Antenna

A wideband high-gain dipole antenna with a simple structure is proposed in this paper. The antenna in composed of four dipole elements, a feeding network and a reflecting plate. The dipoles and feeding network are printed on a polyethylene substrate with a permittivity of 2.55 and thickness of 1mm. The feeding network comprises of four baluns attached to the dipoles, two $100- \Omega$ microstrip lines and two $77- \Omega$ microstrip lines that server for impedance matching. Simulation results show, that the antenna bandwidth reaches 34% covering from 1.84GHz to 2.60GHz $(\vert S_{11} \vert \lt -10$ dB). Moreover, the gain is above 9.95dBi in the operating band while the peek gain is 12.75dBi at 2.5GHz. The proposed antenna has a simple structure, and no additional power divider is needed. Therefore, it is low-cost and suitable for mass production.
