Implementing Hybrid Amplifiers for DWDM System using Artificial Intelligence Methods

To accommodate more number of channels, DWDM system has been modeled in this paper. A hybrid configuration of TDFA-EDFA has been designed and simulated to fit in with 96 numbers of channels in a DWDM System having channel spacing of 0.8nm. A wavelength spectrum ranging from 1479nm to 1555nm is selected for simulating this hybrid configuration. BER values of different selected receivers interpreted that proposed hybrid combination configuration of fiber amplifiers perform adequately well within selected bandwidth spectrum range for a span of 50–70 Km optical fiber. Furthermore, deterioration in BER has been observed with increase in span length of optical fiber. Also, a detailed review of the AI techniques is surveyed for improving performance of DWDM system.
