A Review on Maternal Mortality in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a middle-income nation. It is a country that is a nationally representative with superior surveys of maternal mortality measurement. Bangladesh has achieved the MDG 5 goal of reducing the maternal deaths in 2015. But Bangladesh still has a significant maternal mortality ratio (MMR). Our aim is to find the current status of maternal mortality in Bangladesh. To determine the change in the mortality percentage of mothers, we used the Bangladesh Maternal Mortality Surveys from 2013 and 2019. Based on all surveys, changes in parameters that may be linked to this variation are measured. The risk of maternal death varies, we estimate. In this paper, we showed the present situation of maternal mortality in Bangladesh. According to MDG 5 estimation, Following 1990, the maternal mortality ratio has decreased by 45 percent worldwide, and most of the decline has happened since 2000 [1]. Thirteen percent of the mortality of women aged between 15 and 49 are suffering due to maternal conditions, including haemorrhage, abortion-related difficulties while their pregnancy period [2]. The maternal mortality rate is diminished from 173 life losses about per 100 000 alive births in the evaluation of 2017 which is a 6.99% decline from 2016. Depending on the term and section of the delivery, the ratio includes mortality throughout pregnancy, birthing, within 42 days of miscarriage [3]. In 2016, the maternal mortality rate in Bangladesh for 2016 was estimated as 186.00. This decrease was mostly contributed by a reduction of the risk of mortality because of increased healthcare provision and utilization. From 2013 to 2019, we counted the amount of pregnancy-related deaths that had already occurred. This conclusion provides paradigm for the world's examination of the post-MDG targets in other nations. It helps to increase access to government and also private healthcare facilities presenting maternal health in Bangladesh.
