Basin of Attraction of Controller Gain for Chaotic Behavior of Universal Motor Drive

This paper proposes a chaotic mixer grinder for domestic use. In particular, this study investigates occurrence of chaos in a universal motor drive for imparting rotary motion to the flow in a domestic mixer-grinder. The purpose of making the flow chaotic is to introduce continuous perturbation in the flow for avoiding occurrence of non-homogeneous mixing, which is very common for solid-liquid mixing. In particular, objective of this study is to present range of control parameters for which the universal motor drive becomes chaotic. Simulation study on a 0.5hp, 1800 rpm universal motor has been presented to identify the specific combinations of the control parameters of the system, for which the drive exhibits chaotic motion.
