Mapping Road to Achieve Smart Grid Applying SGED Model

Design and implementation a roadmap for electrical distribution network in order to achieve smart grid targets is one of the most critical necessities of nowadays power system industry. Here, a new model titled Smart Grid Evaluation and Development (SGED) is introduced to develop smart grid roadmap for utilities. In this paper, after explaining the necessity of design and implementation of a local roadmap for bringing smartness to utilities; a summary of the most important international scientific models and techniques in this area is given, then the basis of the SGED model is described. After that, the eight domains of the model is explained and the most important objectives in the classification of the relevant milestones is summarized. How to use the SGED model and the key issues in the implementation process of this model is the other part of this paper.
