Modeling and Nonlinear Controller Design for a DFIG-Based Wind Generation System

This paper discusses the modeling and controlling of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). In this regard, a fifth-order state-space model of DFIG in dq-reference frame is developed. Afterward, to solve the problem of optimal regulation for the DFIG the state-dependent riccati equation (SDRE) method is employed. The time-domain simulation studies are performed in MATLAB/Simulink for a DFIG with the maximum power of 2-MW. The obtained results from the simulation confirm the indicate that the proposed nonlinear controller successfully regulates the state variables.
