Research on torque control method of hybrid electric vehicle based on driving intention recognition

Recuperation braking and control of engine operating point are main measure for further improving the fuel economy of the hybrid electric vehicle. It is the key to accurately identify the driving intention for improving the brake recovery rate and making engine operating points distribute in high-efficiency region. The fuzzy controller is used to establish the identification model of each driving intention, and the actual driving demand torque of the whole vehicle is obtained based on different acceleration and braking intentions. Based on different driving mode intentions, two different SOC control methods and brake recovery schemes are designed, and the mode switching and torque distribution are based on the actual torque demand and SOC. Finally, the vehicle torque control method based on driving intention recognition is formed. In this paper, AVL Cruise and Matlab/Simulink are used for coupling simulation analysis. The simulation results show that the torque control method is used to achieve optimal control of engine and brake recovery. The working point of the engine is closer to the high efficiency zone; the brake recovery performance is also obtained significantly improved; eventually the overall fuel consumption of the vehicle was reduced by 3.7%.
