Contingency Approach to the Management of a Complex Fractionating Column in Terms of Quality Index and Technical and Economic Efficiency

The methods of controlling complex fractionating columns with side walls are considered. The management system is based on a contingency approach to modeling the quality indicators of the products received and the formation of controls. The methods of formalization of the feature that determines the current situation are proposed, which allows identifying the situation. The first one is based on the analysis of the column temperature profile, the second one is based on the calculation of the cross-correlation coefficient. The procedure for the formation of controls is based on a decision-making model that is based on a Petri net, which allows the use of cognitive information. The method of forming a control device in the form of a sequence of Boolean or fuzzy logical expressions is shown. The control method is illustrated by the example of preliminary distillation, but it is applicable to processes that include fractionating columns with side walls
