A Study on Higher Efficiency of Half-Wave Rectified Variable Field Flux Motor for Automobile Applications

We proposed a Half-Wave Rectified Variable Field Flux Motor that can excite a field flux on the brushless field winding by the pulsating excitation current supplied to the armature winding. The field flux can be controlled from zero to its maximum and variable field flux can be realized. In this study, the problems of the existing model, such as the higher efficiency range and the maximum efficiency, are solved by improving the design parameters.
