Development of axial flux driving module using Electromagnetic induction force

This paper presents the development of a driving module for personal mobility that can freely move using electromagnetic induction type magnetic levitation force. The proposed driving module has been developed as an axial magnetic flux rotor structure that is integral with the rotating part of electric power and generating part of levitation force, thereby the weight reduction and simplification of the module are achieved. This paper proposes an axial flux driving module using electromagnetic induction force and analyzes characteristics of levitation force and Forward force through 3D finite element analysis (FEA) and the FEA results were experimentally validated.
