Simulation Considering Magnetic Saturation to Evaluate Operation Characteristics for Half-wave-rectified Self-excitation Type Linear Synchronous Motor with Multi-flux Barrier

This paper presents a simulation model and simulation results of the operation characteristics evaluation of a half-wave-rectified self-excitation type linear synchronous motor with a multi-flux barrier mover. First, we build a simulation model considering the magnetic saturation using a circuit simulator. We calculate a current limiting curved surface and a voltage limiting curved surface to determine the operating point in the simulation. Next, we confirm the usefulness of the simulation model to compare the simulation results and analytical results using a finite element method. Furthermore, we simulate the operation characteristics using the new built simulation model.
