OQAM-FBMC Based Radar Sensing and Wireless Communication in V2V Context

The Joint Radar Communications (RadCom) system uses a shared waveform to sense the environment and transmit information simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a combined transmit waveforms processing based on the Filter Bank Multicarrier using Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OQAM-FBM C). The processing offers better spectral efficiency, which improves the RadCom system performance. The identification of the target parameters and communication symbols was discussed, and it demonstrated that the unknown parameters are deduced from the back-scattered signal. This analysis was verified with numerical simulations. The results show that OQAM-FBMC RadCom presents a much higher spectral efficiency, as shown this article, better performance in radar targeting with improving the bit error rate (BER) performance in multipath channels.
