Biomimetic Antenna Array circuit for Self-Injection-Locked Radar purpose

The analysis of the biomimetic antenna array circuit (BMAA) was performed looking for a way to control the direction of the lobe of the array through the phase compensation in the branches of the circuit. The simulated results show that through the ratio between the capacitances of the opposing branches it is possible to adjust the direction of the main lobe of the array and this effect can be increased by controlling the common branch capacitance allowing the control of the sensitivity to small phase differences of the antenna array. These features are important in SIL (Self-Injection-Locked) radar systems. The obtained results demonstrate that the use of BMAA in SIL radar systems operating in larger and more penetrating wavelengths is promising.
