Hardware and Software Implementation of a Self-Calibrating Smart Meter with Tamper Detection

This paper presents the hardware and software development of a smart meter with self-metrological calibration, non-technical loss detection, wireless fidelity connectivity and power line communication. This device aims to integrate the latest available technologies in order to detect in real-time energy theft and measure energy accurately during the entire lifetime.
