An Analytical Representation Method for Dynamic Behavior of Rotating Blade with Transverse Crack

Blade crack monitoring is of great significance for ensuring the operational safety of aero-engine. An effective dynamic modeling method of the crack for rotating blade is a significant challenge faced by aero-engine blade crack monitoring. Aiming at the analytical vibration modeling of the rotating blade crack for aero-engines, a criterion for judging the stress state of the blade crack cross-section was constructed on the basis of the in-depth mechanism analysis of the breathing effect for blade cracks. A high-fidelity dynamic model of blade crack was proposed based on the stress state at the blade crack cross-section. By comparing with the finite element model, the model’s validity is demonstrated; by comparing with the conventional models, the model proposed in this paper is confirmed to have higher accuracy. It can provide a high-fidelity analytical model for the fault mechanism analysis of rotating blade crack.
