Claw Pole Synchronous Motors/Generators (CP-SMs/Gs) Design and Control: Recent Progress

Claw pole rotor synchronous alternators with diode rectified output controlled through circular-shaped dc excitation coil current on rotor claw pole machine (CPM) has been used exclusively on road vehicles as electric power source, with ever-growing ratings, since 1975.
