DC-link Inductor Investigation for Series-Connected Current Source Converter

The series-connected current source converter (CSC) is one of the main methods to improve the power capacity of CSC-based applications. In this work, the optimal modulation scheme for series-connected CSC is summarized. In addition to some well-studied performance of modulation schemes, the undiscussed DC-link inductor has also been introduced into the discussion since its size and cost are non-ignorable in series-connected CSCs. Detailed analysis and calculations are given. Simulated verifications are provided.
