A Single-Switch Capacitor Clamped Non-Resonant Linear Soft-Switching DC-DC Converter

In this paper, a single-switch capacitor clamped non-resonant linear soft-switching converter is presented for the front-stage power conversion of the renewable energy power generation system containing photovoltaic cell or fuel cell. The proposed converter can achieve the zero-current-switching turn-on of the switch and zero-current-switching turn-off of all diodes thanks to the linear current of auxiliary inductor. The detailed operation principle and the performance feature of the proposed converter are analyzed, and then are verified by the simulation platform and the experimental prototype. The proposed converter can provide a single-switch topology choice without resonant current spike for the high-frequency soft-switching step-up DC-DC converter.
