The Role of BESS and UPQC in PV Integrated Power System for Power Quality Improvement: A Brief Review

The use of Renewable energy sources has been the future to the power industry and are wide spread in use to reduce the burden on conventional fuels. However the erratic nature of the RES makes it inconvenient and uneconomical for high scale use. The paper therefore tries to present a detailed literature review on the various techniques that has been applied to control the power disturbances due to high scale penetration of RES by the use of efficient BESS and the use of UPQC. This papers has highlighted some of the novel configuration of the grid and have presented a tabular comparison of the review conducted for each application field in a tabular basis.
