Numerical simulation and analysis of SAR image for lunar surface based on DEM data

Based on Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of lunar surface, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging is performed by using electromagnetic calculation method of Advanced Integral Equation Model (AIEM). The SAR image quality was evaluated by using the no-reference mode, and the imaging indexes (u, std and E) of the AIEM are verified to be of high performance. These indicators shows that performance of the average brightness, gray dispersion and information richness significantly better than the Improved Integral Equation Model (IIEM). Considering various indicators, the AIEM method has considerable advantages in the study of random rough terrain.
