Novel Energy-Based Speed Control of Grid-Connecting PMSG Wind System

Due to nonlinear operation conditions, external disturbances, and parameter uncertainties, controller computation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in a changing wind system is problematic. This paper proposes a new passivity-based speed controller (PBSC) for use with a network connection PMSG-based wind system via a back-to-back converter, which enables the PMSG to operate at an optimum level while ensuring the stability and rapid convergence of the system under investigation. The purpose of this project is to maintain predefined amounts of reactive power and DC-link voltage. The fundamental goal for the current work utilizing MATLAB/Simulink is to extract the greatest power from the studied system while considering its complete dynamic when constructing the control approach.
