I. Introduction
Today, as the backbone network transmission technology has repeatedly made breakthroughs, the research on broadband access networks (BAN) has attracted more intense attention, where passive optical network (PON) is widely considered as a hopeful and effective solution for future fiber access due to its superiority of high bandwidth and low cost over other access techniques. In order to cope with the pivotal demand for the next generation PON (NG-PON) like enormous capacity, larger power loss budget, better network privacy as well as compatibility, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-based passive optical network (OFDM-PON) is treated as a hot topic. Owing to the special PON topology, there is a risk of suffering diverse attack methods in the downstream channel broadcast communication. Therefore, many encryption schemes have been proposed for sake of OFDM-PON security enhancement.
