Reliability Design And Evaluation of The EVA Power Tool

The extravehicular activity (EVA) power tool is used to repair or replace the extravehicular equipment of the space station, which is one of the necessary tools for the long-term operation of the space station. In this study, a reliability block diagram of the EVA power tools used in China’s space station was drawn to establish its reliability model, which was based on the failure mode of the EVA power tool. The reliability calculation method of each key component of the EVA power tool was given, and the above method was verified by environmental test. The evaluation results showed that the EVA power tools met the requirements of high reliability.
