Analysis of the Use of Different Modes for Determining the Parameters of Dielectrics by Biconical Resonator

The paper is devoted to the measurement of the dielectric constant with help of a biconical resonator and the use of numerical simulation to solve this problem. The possibility of using EH211 hybrid mode to determine the dielectric constant is investigated, and this approach is compared with measurements based on the H

resonance mode. Responses of the resonance frequency and Q-factor for EH211 and H

on Ɛ and tanδ have been obtained. The procedure for obtaining estimates of Ɛ and tanδ from the resonant frequency and Q-factor of the resonator based on machine learning is considered, and the results of its use on the base of the data for resonances for the EH211 and H
011
modes are given. Conclusions about the applicability of EH211 mode for measuring the dielectric constant and limitations for the ranges of measured parameters for the H
011
mode are formulated.
