Dispersion Management of Mid-Infrared Filamentation in Dense Gases

Solids and liquids have broadband regions of normal and anomalous dispersion in their transparency windows. In the experiment [1] X-shaped angle-wavelength spectrum was obtained in liquid water with 1-ps, 0.527-µm pulses in normal group-velocity dispersion regime while in the anomalous one the O-shaped spectrum was obtained at the wavelength of 1.055 µm. In fused silica, the angle-wavelength spectra were observed and simulated in the normal, zero and anomalous dispersion regimes [2] . However, the wavelength λ variation common for the experiments in liquids and solids [3] works essentially alters nonlinear parameters such as multiphoton ionization order etc. In this work, we propose an experiment to explore the effect of dispersion regime variation on the angle-wavelength spectrum without changing the nonlinearity of the medium. Taking the setup parameters (1.3 µm, 120 µJ, 60 fs) from [4] , we simulate the possible experiment using propagation model [5] .
