Digital Architecture for High Precision Custom Waveform Generation

This paper represents Digital architecture for high precision custom waveform generation using VHDL language for implementing the algorithm using an FPGA device and results are observed in Digital to Analog converter . Functions like Sine, Ramp, Arbitrary and pulse signals are generated here . Where FPGA provides an edge over other means of function generators which are further discussed in this paper along with the steps and methodologies of this signal synthesizing process is also being stressed . The Function Generator that is covered in this paper is first synthesized using Very High - Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL ) and then it is verified using ModelSim simulator. This Function Generator implementation is simple and re-configurable and has various applications in the field of research and experiments and can also be used as stimulus testing of logic circuits and proper functioning of equipment in industries. This paper focuses on the advantage of this function generator for practical implementation . FPGA provides numerous advantages over analog devices and are discussed further.
