Performance of Neighborhood-Watch-Based Resilient Distributed Energy Management Algorithm Under Different Types of Cyberattacks

With the intelligence and interconnection of power systems, distributed generation (DGs) and distributed control algorithm have been developed rapidly. Virtual power plant (VPP), formed by the aggregation of multiple distributed generation agents, can perform distributed economic dispatch (EP) based on the consensus algorithm. In order to protect the distributed economic dispatch process from communication failure or cyberattack, a resilient distributed energy management algorithm called neighborhood watch mechanism has been proposed. However, the attacker who wants to endanger the stability of the system or obtain the economic benefits, carefully designed stealthy attacks or collusion attacks may destroy the current defense strategy. This paper analyzes the performance of the resilient distributed energy management algorithm of neighborhood watch mechanism under different types of cyberattacks, and tests the specific performance through numerical examples.
