Distributed Siting of Wind Farms to Minimize Fluctuations in Generated Power

With increasing wind penetration, the stability of the power system decreases due to fluctuations in the generated power of wind farms. Distributed siting of wind farms reduces fluctuations in power generation. A method of distributed siting of wind farms based on a genetic algorithm is proposed. The optimization problem uses the target function - the coefficient of variation of the generated power, as well as two constraints - the capacity utilization factor and the duration of operation period with generated power at least a certain level. To assess the effect of distributed siting, a day-ahead forecast of wind farm power generation is performed using a long short-term memory model.
