Investigation of the Possibilities for Application of a Basis-Power Model in Analysing the Energy Efficiency of Type I Fluid Systems

This paper presents new research on the application of the developed model for calculating the totally useful power in the systems for continuous transport of fluids and bulk cargoes. A characteristic water pumping system operated by a water supply and sewerage company in Bulgaria has been selected as the subject of the model demonstration research. A new measurement data are represented and used for the calculations. In the investigation carried out, the basis power of the pumping systems was altogether 42.71 kW and the total losses were about 42.02 kW, which is 49.9% of used energy. Other energy efficiency indices have also been used for analysis.
