Theory and Analysis of the Diode Frequency Mixers: Generalized Matrix Approach (Part II: Port Isolation, Mismatch Effect)

This paper is sequential of [1]. Based on the developed approach for the mixer analysis by the nodal equations method, the analysis of the RF-IF isolation and LO-IF isolation is performed and the maximum achievable values of the conversion gains and ports isolations for the case of diode parameters mismatch are presented. Simulation results are presented as a confirmation of the calculation accuracy. The dependences of the ports isolations on the load conductance and on the LO voltage amplitude are considered. Calculation and simulation results are obtained for two LO operation modes: harmonic and pulse.
