Application of the joulemetric method to determine the composition of uroliths

The paper considers the issues of studying the composition of uroliths by obtaining the joulemetric characteristics of a solution of hydrochloric acid and ureterolith. The joulemetric method is easy to implement, highly sensitive and informative. The joulemetric method is based on the correspondence between the operation performed by an external source of electrical energy in the object under study and a change in the state of the object under study. Experimental studies of prototypes of hydrochloric acid solutions and ureterolith released after a patient with nephrolithiasis undergo surgical treatment in the volume of remote shock wave lithotripsy were carried out. The studies were carried out using the joulemeter at several modes of electric current and exposure time. An electric current was passed through the liquid placed in the interelectrode space of the sensor, measurements of the work of the electric current spent on electrochemical reactions when the interelectrode potential of the volume of liquid with dissolved ureterolith changed. To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the proposed method for determining the salt composition of ureterolith, ROC analysis (Receiver Operator Characteristic) was used. Based on the results obtained, one can judge the nature of the investigated substance and the possible composition of the ureterolith, as well as the nature of the molecules that make up this substance. It seems possible to judge the salt composition of the ureterolith for the purpose of its pathogenetic substantiation and further treatment.
