Design of a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) Module for Drones

Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) are autonomous solutions that can be extensively used in the fields of transportation of light weight goods, spying, geographical surveillance, city surveillance, traffic monitoring etc. Under scenarios where human contact should be avoided due to reasons ranging from pathogen contamination, pandemic situations and high-risk products etc. UAV's or drones tend to be an excellent option for such applications that requires minimal human interference. The only limitation till now that's prohibiting the use of Drones is the fact that charging of such devices requires some level of human interactions that at times completely nullifies the purpose of making the system autonomous. Thus, there's a need to design and develop a Wireless Charging solution for such devices which can help to achieve the objective of making the above system completely autonomous. The following work done mainly focuses on the design of a customized solution that can wirelessly transfer power (up to 36W) along with a smart embedded system to take care of the functioning and other parameters while maintaining a high efficiency.
