Automated Battery Charging System for Multi-Rotor Aerial Vehicles

This article discusses one of the main areas of development of the Aeronet market, reveals one of the existing problems in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles - the insufficient duration of flight missions of multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles due to the relatively low specific energy consumption of modern lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries, as well as a long time to recharge them. The problem of the need for human intervention in the recharging of batteries for drones, which prevents the full autonomy of flight missions, is also disclosed. Within the framework of solving the problem of UAV autonomy, various methods of automatic charging of drones were proposed, their distinctive features were considered, their comparative analysis-advantages and disadvantages-was carried out, and conclusions were drawn about the possibility and reasonableness of their use in modern conditions. After the comparative analysis, the method of wireless charging of the quadcopter with the help of a special charging station was selected for further study, the theoretical part of the question was investigated, standard block diagrams of wireless power transmission were proposed, as well as basic electrical diagrams of the receiver and transmitter of wireless charging. In the practical part of the article, a chip of transmitting modules is selected, a method for implementing an accurate drone landing on the platform is proposed, and a strategy for implementing the concept for further practical application is developed.
