Investigation of Route Completion Time in Dependence on Transport Network Parameters Using Computer Modelling

In present days there are many different types of vehicles that form flows in transport networks. One of the most influencing conditions of those traffic flows, that impact how fast any vehicle can make a journey from one point of transport network to another, are traffic jams. To measure that impact, computer modelling of city transport network. with many factors affecting it, and data analysis are used as a method in this article. As a result, difference between mean time that vehicles spend on going between two points of transport network on weekdays and on weekend in same time of day has been revealed. Results show stable correlation between mean time of route completion by vehicle and time between traffic lights switching (duration of red lights) - travel time exponentially grows in dependence on the decreasing durations of red traffic lights.
