CDRA with Super High Frequency mm Wave Range for Licensed and Unlicensed Wi-Fi WLAN Applications

This paper proposed a cylindrical dielectric resonator (CDRA). The cylindrical dielectric resonator is constructed by Alumina Al
₂
O
₃
and fabricated on Rogers RT5880 substrate εr=2.2 loss tangent tanδ 0.0009 and the conducting layer is copper with thickness 0.035 placed at the bottom. And lies in s-band which is 2-4 GHz. This design is preferred because of its low profile and cost effective characteristics and transition with other components is simple. And can be used as passive unlicensed microwave devices. The efficiency of suggested antenna in terms of return loss, frequency gain is monitored and analysed using CST microwave studio software. Thus the CDRA shows up gain of 6.79 or 6.8 dBi at 4 GHz. This can be utilise in WLAN Wi-Fi and other Super High frequency mm-wave range applications.
