Qualification of a Manual Frequency Restoration Reserve Provided by Flexible Facilities of Prosumer

The prosumers, aggregators, storages and distributed generation will gradually replace the coal technologies that provide ancillary services, during the era of energy transition with a huge penetration of renewables. The uncertain production of renewable resources requires an increase in the quantities and quality of ancillary services. This report identifies the potential and limitations of the facilities in the Bulgarian seaside resort of Albena for provision of manual frequency restoration reserve. The conducted tests for ancillary services are quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated, as well as compared with the existing technologies.
