WSN Node for Air Pollution Monitoring

The high paced development of industry and irresponsible human behavior toward nature leads to severe problems. These problems can be listed as climate change, global warming, and highly concentrated air pollution. These issues need to be resolved or need to be in control. Moreover, air pollution is the main reason behind many complex problems. Hence for monitoring purposes of pollution, wireless sensor nodes are essentials. Therefore, the development of wireless air pollution monitoring sensor node takes place with ZigBee, WiFi, sensors (MQ2, MQ7, MQ135, DHT11, SHARP-GP2Y1010AU0F). The selected air pollutants are finalized from the criteria air pollutant list. The wireless sensor node can sense targeted criteria pollutants, disseminate over the designated network with ZigBee modules. The same wireless sensor module can sent data over the cloud-server using ESP8266. The monitoring data is published on the open-source cloud website (thingsdpeak.com). The two wireless radio module for single node provides extra reliability of the network.
