A Comparative Analysis of a CPW and Partially Ground Fed for Compact UWB Antenna

The proposed design presents a novel compact Ultra-Wide Band antenna, pertinent for cognitive radio communication. The proposed design comprises a partially ground feed configuration. The proposed UWB antenna is successfully simulated and analyzed, having stable omnidirectional radiation patterns, constant group delay and persistent gain of 9 dBi. The design is modelled and simulated by Ansoft HFSSv-11. A comparable analysis has been performed between proposed design and a monopole antenna, containing rectangular slot in ground plane with 50Ω coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line feed.
