Influence of Carbon Nanoparticles on the Structure and Properties of Polyimide Crystallized Fibers Obtained by Melt-Spinning

Thermoplastic partially crystalline polyimide R-BAPB was investigated. The R-BAPB fibers filled with single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTS) were processed by melt-spinning. Scanning electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry were used to study an effect of carbon nanotubes on the structure and crystallization rate of the R-BAPB polyimide fibers. The mechanical properties of nanocomposite R-BAPB fibers in amorphous as well as in crystallized states were determined.
