An Extended Co-prime Array with Multiple Discontinuous Period Subarrays

In this paper, a new extended co-prime array with multiple discontinuous period subarrays (ECAMdpS) is proposed. Different from the co-prime array with multi-period subarrays (CAMpS), the number of periods for each subarray of ECAMdpS is discontinuous. By selecting the value of period and the number of periods for each subarray properly, the degrees of freedom (DOFs) of ECAMdpS can outperform than CAMpS. The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation performance of ECAMdpS is demonstrated by the simulation results.
