A novel compact rectifier utilizing harmonic waves for direction alignment of MPT system

A novel compact rectifier utilizing two harmonic waves for direction alignment of MPT system is proposed. The rectifier consists of a T-type match network, a shunt diode and a dc-pass filter. By designing the harmonics impedance of the dc-pass filter and the input impedance match network, the rectifier can utilize the second and third harmonics simultaneously. Simulation results show that the rectifying efficiency is 73.3%, and the second and third harmonics amplitude are -2.4dBm and 0.4dBm respectively, when the input power is 19.3dBm. This rectifier could be applied in distance estimation and direction alignment of the rectenna for a MPT system.
